    I just want to give a big thanks to the art team for these loading screens. These are very pretty and much better than the loading screens that we had back in 2016. Beautiful work.

    Okay so my phone LOVES to crash while I'm playing go (iPhone 6 plus) and it happened to crash right after I got into a fight and I got so lucky that they sat and waited for me to get back to the game! Of course I suck so I still lost but I think more people should be doing this and I'm going to join the party of those being fair while these servers are unfair. I wish I got a screenshot of the person who waited but just got to say thanks for the chance to win.

    Woke up early to a notification about April's fools day from Pokemon Go including shiny Sudowoodo and Croagunk, so decided to take a scroll. 2nd Sudowudoo I click is shiny, I scream a little, use a golden razz and ultra ball, chuck a great throw on the green/red boi, but nonetheless he flees.💔

    Then I wouldn't have to scroll though hundreds of monsters and repeatedly look up qualities and stats.

    Shinys get a folder. Pikachus with assorted hats get a folder. Precious first and favorite Pokemon get a folder etc. They're all completely useless, but nice to have around.... now if only I could shove them slightly out of the way!

    I think Niantic missed a big opportunity for April Fools!

    It's been quiet for a while, but last I've heard, Niantic is going to have a hard time with integrating shiny ditto into the game. If I remember right, doing it in wild encounters could be done in two ways: either encountering a pokemon could display as shiny but once you caught it obviously it would be a ditto, or it would not display shiny until after it reveals itself. Both of those methods are sucky and make hunting for it hard and in some cases painful; don't forget that ditto is a hard to catch pokemon and has a higher flee rate than others, raising a lot of concern when you want the lowest flee rate for a pokemon you might encounter shiny. But what could be done is a special research to allow everyone to have fun with the release of shiny ditto. That's where April Fools comes into play, they could have created a three stage special research that leads you to believe you get something like a second mythical such as jirachi or celebi; yet once you encounter the mythical it transforms into the shiny ditto and gives those unaware a pleasant surprise. This is just an idea and I hope you people would discuss with me on ideas or correct me.

    Took roughly 10 berries, 5 bananas and 15 ultra balls. So stock up on Ultra Balls. Mine didn't even end up being a three star and it was 2003 CP. I'll be just winning 3 out 5 now so I don't have that encounter again.

    A new GBL Error

    First time I've seen this one... I matched with someone else for a battle, then I was sent back to the rewards screen with an error message. So I went and tried again, matched with the same player, and when I finally joined the battle his venesaur was finishing a frenzy plant on my poor swampert. Game? Please? At least let me watch my Pokémon get destroyed.

    0.171.0-G doesn't let you move through text when renaming

    EDIT 2: just worked out that you can still do this... you just can't see that it's working, because the usual text entry field isn't popping up. If you swipe on the space bar it does still work--so long as all you want to do is go to the beginning and not somewhere in the middle, cos you've no way of knowing where the caret has moved to.

    OP: I know others have noted bugs with pasting into the text box with the new update, but can't find any of those old threads to see if this was noted too: you can no longer move through text to e.g. put a symbol at the start of a Pokemon's name (e.g. I put a £ in front of things I'm going to trade to my wife bc she needs the candy; makes sure I don't accidentally transfer it).

    It doesn't work by tapping at a location, it doesn't work by swiping on the space bar: all you can do is backspace the whole way, like a Grandma typing out a church newsletter with her hunt-and-peck typing. Bit irritating tbh.

    ETA: also true for search strings, which is annoying when autocorrect gets it wrong.

    I updated my app yesterday and the game has been unplayable since: the app freezes right after launch. I uninstalled and reinstalled but to no avail. I reached out to niantic on twitter but didn't get a reply from them but had others say that they were facing similar issues.

    Hopefully there is a fix soon, I don't want to miss the landorus raid.

    If I win four out of five, I think "Awesome! More loot! " If I win one out of five I think "Awesome! My rank will go down and I'll face easier opponents!"

    I don't deny the downside of either circumstance, but I can choose the reaction I have to them.

    Ultimately I'd rather live a life of joy than bitterness.
