    They are there sometimes.

    But so very often they're not.

    I click on the button, go over to Today and it just has that default screen that says: Summer Event Event Pokemon appearing in the wild... yada yada.

    I can't claim my stuff for completing the new Friendship tasks.

    Niantic deserves praise

    Lately when scrolling through the subs, or reading chats in WhatsApp / telegram groups people can do nothing but complain about Niantic. "Why Larvitar from breakthrough" "Why these sucky pokemon from shadow battles" "Why hasn't raid invites been launched yet" (well, they have now but if raid complaints about this before). I often see the points and can agree with the sentiments, I, too, would prefer a legendary in the breakthrough for instance.

    Though I do not think niantic gets the praise it deserves. They've had the odd complaint, but on a whole they've been a saint. Making a huge online game that is freely accessible to everyone, no pay-to-play or pay-to-win mechanics. Not even ads after catching every fifth pokemon. They listen to the community and want to do what's best. COVID came around, they allowed people to play from home and still enjoy practically all parts of the game. You accidentally bought something in the shop, or a bug caused you to lose your raid pass? Here, a refund, no worries. We wanted party hat wurmple? Guess what we got? There will always be people complaining, if you create something it can't be perfect for everyone. But can we just show niantic a little more love? The game is still up and running after 4 years, perhaps even in better shape than it ever was.

    I'm sorry for this rant, but I hope some more people realise that getting a larvitar from breakthrough isn't the end of the world, and niantic actually tries very hard to make the game enjoyable for everyone, and as the title suggests, I believe they deserve more praise.

    Thank you Niantic, for making this amazing game and allowing this terrific community to form!

    Tip: You control the type of balloon encounters with Rocket Radar!

    Hopefully this is useful for someone and I'm not the only one who didn't realize this. You can affect what kind of Team Rocket challengers show up in balloons by equipping or unequipping the different Rocket Radars.

    Nothing equipped = grunts Rocket Radar equipped = leaders Super Rocket Radar equipped = Giovanni (bosses)
