We already do not allow friend code sharing which is required for remote raids so in essence it is practically blocked.

Remote raiding is a great tool for all of us especially while areas undergo quarantine, but we do not want to see the sub over run with request like we were when friend codes first came out.

Our affiliated discord has a lfg raid channel and we may in the near future link a subreddit to our sidebar for raiding. Please be sure to follow the commenting rules over there.

On the note of slowpoke... I woke up from a lovely nap to see a ton of complaints about it and honestly I understand. It is low effort and repetitive and that is exactly what we want to avoid here, so at least temporarily we will be removing all slowpoke ar images.

Feel free to use this thread to leave feedback on any changes you would like to see in the sub, and any suggestions for subs that may already be established for us to look at adding to our side bar.

    Remote raiding question mega thread

    Posted: 18 Jul 2020 04:19 AM PDT

There have been quite a few questions about remote raiding, and I don't personally have the answers as I have not tried it out yet, but to assist the community further I will consolidate these questions and any answers received.

Feel free to ask and answer more questions in the comments if you have them.

u/VHNerd I got invited to a couple raids, but when I clicked on them it just kept telling me I needed to walk closer to interact. Is this a bug or something? Resetting your device may help but did not in his instance.

From several users: What level must I be to invite others to raid? 32 as of the creation of this post. Any level can be invited however.

From several users: I used a Remote Raid Pass, and I wasn't close enough to the gym in order to fight it. This appears to be a bug. Contact support and hope they refund the remote raid pass.

From several users: Can I use this to get regionals? There doesn't appear to be any reason why this wouldn't work if a regional was available to raid but there are none to test at the moment AFAIK.

u/CompositeWhoHorrible All six of my Pokemon got knocked out. When I tried to reenter it said I needed another raid pass to reenter. It appears at the moment that you might be able to reenter by having a second raid pass in your bag, but that it is not actually consumed. Per the niantic help page it must be done by accessing the nearby menu. This bug is currently under investigation.

Several users: Reentering a raid says I need to use a second remote raid pass? While you need to have the second pass in your bag, this appears to be a visual bug and it is not actually consumed.

u/Dashinggames has written up a short explanation of how remote raids work that I will share below.

    Remote Raiding with Friends!

Remote Raid invitations have been pushed during Raid Hour (in GMT), it's super easy to invite your friends; just follow these steps.

    • Enter a Raid Battle (remote or physically there, doesn't matter)
    • There's a small symbol to the top-right of your party screen (a small icon with a +), tap that and you'll see your Friend List (only Good Friend and higher can join)
    • Invite up to 5 online Friends

They'll get an overworld notification that they have been invited to a Raid Battle, but they need a Remote Raid Pass to join your invited Raid Battle! If they don't have one, they have to exit from the invite, go to the Shop to purchase a Remote Raid Pass and they have to re-enter from the nearby tab! The invite expires at the 20 second mark of the lobby, after which the invitation will also disappear from the nearby tab! (At the 30 second mark, inviting people will get locked, if any invites are available.)

Invites can currently only be sent by players that are level 32 and up, invitations can be received from level 5 and up!

Our town has a "big" Pokemon GO player problem. I need your help

    Posted: 18 Jul 2020 03:43 AM PDT

Hey guys, first of all.. please excuse my misspelling and grammatical errors.

I live in a more or less small village in Germany. We used to have 3 gyms and about 7 pokestops across the town and in the last couple of month more and more have been added.

We had a pretty tight PoGo-community with people in every age and or life situation from a 15 year old student to a 80+ pensioner.

With the help of whatsapp group chats we daily arrange groups for legendary raids and whenver there's special event like raid days or community days we always did these together.

From time to time people stopped playing and left the group but at the same time we added new players. But the main core of players always have been the same. Until a couple of months ago one core-player decided, for yet unknown reason, to leave the group to do his own thing which is of cause nothing "bad". But this is part where things went way south. The person who left is someone, who's unemployedbut for health reasons. Meaning: He has plenty of time to play Pokemon GO. He dedicates his entire day to play Pokemon GO. Doing multiple routes of catching Pokemon and battling gyms per day. He owns 3 accounts ( all 3 teams ), two of them are lvl 40 with multiple maxed out Pokemon. Obviously there's nothing wrong doing such things. He was clearing gyms no matter who was in the gym and/or for how long.

He started clearing gyms at 11 pm so that players, who sit in gyms to get their 50 coins, have no chance to get them. We tried to adept and put our Pokemon in the gyms at different times, but 30 mins later he always swiped through the town and cleared all gyms.

Me and some other players who have the capacity to clear the gyms for other players, started to kick him out within minutes whenever he cleared gyms. Looking back at that might not been the most smartest idea but back then it was the only thing that came in our minds. This whole thing ended in him stop clearing every single person in the gyms but targeting us specifically. It costs a lot of time and energy to keep up the "battle" between him and us. So most of us stopped trying fighting him, but even with most us stopping he keeps swiping through town. We often tried to address the problem asking him why is he doing this. Asking him to stop it. But he refuses to listen or answer our questions.

We are at a point where playing Pokemon Go, a game made to enjoy, has turned into a living nightmare.

The whole reason of this treat is, we don't know what to do. That's why I'm asking you guys. What should we do? Is this just a way of playing the game? Or does this already count as harassment? I really don't know.

Most of us are adults and we can just go to a different town and get our coins there but many of us have kids who also play Pokemon GO and they are the one who suffer the most.

So I'm asking you guys once again. What should we do?
