I lost my first Shiny Shadow (Aerodactyl)... Posted: 03 Feb 2021 03:14 AM PST https://imgur.com/a/IOyOzxO I am not too knowledgeable of this game yet as I've only started playing seriously from a month ago (returning from the initial hype in 2016) and after suffering many attempts trying to get past Cliff's Aerodactyl, it ended up being the first shiny shadow I've ever encountered. I was so excited that out of all the things I could have done, my first move was to give it a Nanab berry as I've always had trouble catching flying Pokémon and thought the berry would make it easier to catch, but it ended up backfiring on me. The Aerodactyl flew up as soon as I threw the berry and refused to come back down to the center because of the berry. No matter curveball or straight ball and how hard I tried to throw the 6 pokeballs they gave me, none of them came close to the catching circle with the circle so high up. It felt like I was about to start a fire on my phone screen with how fast I dragged my finger on the screen to try to reach the circle. Watching the flee animation after missing the 6th throw by being about 900 miles too short gave me the most depressing feeling I've had in a very long time. It wasn't until after this that I decided to do some research and find out that not only did shiny shadow's have a 100% catch rate, but I also could have re-centered the Pokémon by switching AR+ mode on/off. Learning these things after losing what would have been my favorite catch ever ended up worsening my depression for the night, but at least I learned something from it. But yeah, here's documentation of my failure at doing simple things on this game so anyone else that had a similar experience can feel better and not feel alone. submitted by /u/Blackerzez [link] [comments]
