So sometimes my buddy won't bring me any candy even though I've been running like hell on my treadmill, and everytime it happens I think of this meme

"Battle until you win" is super frustrating and needs to go away

    Posted: 22 May 2020 02:34 AM PDT

You know those days where you are just super unlucky in the GBL. Two lost leads, one wrong swap, one laggy battle and another one where the opponent just counters everything you have. You are frustrated and ready to take the hit in the rating and cry in the corner. But then the hell begins where you just "battle until you win". Already on a losing streak you just want to get this over with and start the new set fresh, but keep losing and losing, until you finally win a match and face the loss of even 100 points in rating.

The same happened to me today. I got super unlucky in the team matchups, got some bad lag in two battles and just kept losing and losing and playing quite badly, just wanting to end it. Season 2 is much harder as the best players are still in relatively low ratings, even some youtubers who were rank 10 struggle to get above 2300 or 2400 points. I climbed 100 points over the last week and it was a real struggle and now lost it all.

What is more - why is this feature even here? Was it supposed to stop the "tanking" strategy people were using to be able to win 4 battles and get their legendary reward? Now there are no legendaries and there is far fewer people tanking their rating on purpose (at least I saw only a couple this season). Is it supposed to help you get the 650 star dust? That is not an efficient use of your time.

I am at a loss. Niantic, please get rid of this feature.

For those who aren't in quarantine, and are struggling to catch a certain pokemon type to complete the Sinnoh Throwback Challenge, here are some field research encounters. Hope this helps!

Sinnoh Throwback. If you complete all 4 Throwback Challenges you'll get a ticket for the Champion 2020 Event (Galar Region). If you don't complete all four, you can purchase a ticket for $7.99 or it's equivalent in your currency. I'll post tasks when available. Credit to LeekDuck

    Actual Sinnoh research

    Posted: 22 May 2020 05:44 AM PDT

On 4/9 of the Sinnoh research one has to catch 1 ground type Pokémon. So the problem about this is that there are only 3 ground type Pokémon in gen 4 you might encounter in the wild.

    1. Gible (incredible rare wild spawn)
    2. Hippopotas (Still pretty rare)
    3. Gliscor (aswell pretty rare)

As you can see without weather boost It is quite impossible to get a ground type Pokémon right now. Niantic please give us a way to get past this mission.

    Idea for Pikachu with hats

    Posted: 22 May 2020 05:46 AM PDT

I think a great way to add value to Pikachu with hats is to give it a special move based on the hat it is wearing. For example a Pikachu with an Umbreon hat could know a dark move. Pikachu with Rayquaza hat could know a movie like dragon tail, Pikachu with a Lucario hat could know a fighting move or iron tail, etc. That would give it more usability. Would be nice if these pikachus that cannot evolve would have the ability to have higher cp levels then the regular Pikachu that can evolve. What do you guys think of this idea? And sorry if this was already mentioned elsewhere.

Quick tip for Catch ground type in Sinnoh throwback

    Posted: 22 May 2020 01:40 AM PDT

First post here and sorry for my english.

If your country still have Hoenn throwback active do not finish the field quest "earn a heart with your buddy" because it gives Marshstomp and can help finish the Catch a ground type pokemon challenge. I haven't found a ground type yet here in the Philippines.

    Sinnoh research problem

    Posted: 22 May 2020 06:16 AM PDT

On 4/9 of the Sinnoh research one has to catch a ground type Pokémon. The problem is that there a only 2 ground type Pokémon in gen 4 you might be alle to encounter in the wild.

    1. Gible (incredible rare spawn)
    2. Hippopotas (Very rare spawn, but can be caught in T4 raids)

Without weather boost or a T4 Hippopotas raid, one is pretty much screwed up, escpecially as a rural player. Niantic please change something to make us get past this mission.
