    Allow me to preface my thought by stating that this is not intended to be a complaint nor reflect others' opinions.

    After weeks of grinding in Season 3, I found myself at 2443; a new high. As I prepared for another Grindy set, hoping to eke out a dozen or so rating points, the pragmatic section of my mind asked: "Why? Seriously, Why are you bothering?"

    To be candid, statistically I am highly unlikely to reach rank 10 for the various reasons:

    1. I'm not that good.
    2. I don't want to be that good. Memorizing and counting charge moves, etc
    3. I refuse to invest the time for 25 games.
    4. Various impacts of RNG and technical difficulties.

    I decided to do something different, put in a team of 10 CP Mons and dump rank. It worked. 12 minutes later my rating had dropped 253 points, and I had 12,300 Stardust (using a Starpiece) for my trouble.

    I had probably saved myself the better part of two hours. What did I give up?

    I'm sure I lost a little bit of Stardust and a chance to catch a mediocre Torchick but what that 2 hours means, even if I were to use it for Pokemon go, is arguably more useful IMO.

    Perhaps if there was a greater rewards for Rank 8 and 9 but even then I feel that there is a reasonable argument to be made in favor of simply hitting rank 7, staying low and then grabbing a few games from time to time.

    I'd be curious to hear others' thoughts on the matter.
