As my wife informed me we have a little one on the way I decided I'm going to have run around and be a lot more active for the little one. Even with weather dipping below freezing I'm still at it and hopefully can still keep it up It's been a tough road but Pokemon go has helped a lot. Thanks for this community

Are special missions just getting weirder?

Is it just me, or are these special missions getting weirder all the time?

For the blind, the images show Professor Willow introducing a special mission with the following text:

Ah, Trainer! Good to see you! I wanted to ask for your help.

There are many mysteries in the world for which science has yet to come up with compelling explanations. For example, quantum indeterminacy and the observer effect have no obvious place in a rational universe.

It's also unclear why Pokémon should only be visible from a limited distance, even with a clear line of sight, or why trainers should stop accumulating XP at level 40.

One theory is that we are, in fact, living in a sophisticated simulation, and that perhaps simulated worlds would be even more likely and numerous than real ones. Could this explain, for example, the discrete quantization of Mega Pokémon Energy?

If we are NPCs, or simulated characters, then the more frightening questions are:

What is the purpose of that simulation?

And would any of us truly want to know?

Please complete the following research tasks:

    * Earn 2 candies walking with your buddy.

    * Make 10 great throws.

    * Find a signature of anisotropy in the distribution of ultra-high-energy cosmic rays.

The 12k Egg Rollout is The Worst New Feature Rollout

    Posted: 18 Oct 2020 01:51 PM PDT

I really enjoy Pokémon GO. I've played since July 6, 2016. I've caught over 120,000 Pokémon. I met my current girlfriend from playing over 2 years ago. The new 12k eggs cause me to play significantly less than before.

First, I can't risk getting new eggs from spinning stops. Since I'm barely spinning stops, I can't get new Field Research. Since I'm not getting new Field Research, I'm catching fewer Pokémon. Since I'm planning on catching fewer Pokémon, I'm opening the app less.

Second, sometimes I do plan to spin stops. That requires me to have my inventory totally full of Pokémon so I can avoid getting eggs.

Once I do get a 12k egg, it's a Trubbish or low stat Larvitar. So far I've hatched 6 and had a 5/1 split respectively. Bad results on top of a negative play experience is totally demoralizing.

In part, I could normally think it's just me. But my girlfriend plays, her Mom and Aunt play. Lots of my friends from before Pokémon GO play. They're mostly demoralized too.

I'm posting this because I enjoy and care about the experience that Pokémon GO offers. I hope Niantic will realize that this is terrible and make it manageable. They might have some creative answers, but I think there are some obvious ones (all of these should happen):

    • Allow players to return Eggs to the Professor so they can Manage Eggs the way we Manage Pokémon
    • Change the minimum stats for 12k Eggs to be 13/13/13; it's a Spooky number, but also means that your 12k Egg Larvitar is on average better than his 1-star Raid or 10k Egg cousin
    • Remind players that their Egg inventory is full before they battle a Team Leader just like the app would before battling a Grunt with full Pokémon inventory

Thanks for reading, if you've got some good ideas on 12k eggs please share them in the comments. Sorry if I'm posting stuff similar to other people's recent reactions, I'm not a big Redditor but felt strongly enough this that I needed to post it.
