    TL;DR: Mega Raid bosses are nothing more than bloated 3 Star Pokémon and if you're new to the game or just coming back it's best to not stress over them.

    I expect this post will most likely get downvoted and I get why but I just want to bring some awareness to my opinion as to why the Mega Raid mechanic in Pokémon Go is a complete waste of resources and time. If it's your favorite Pokémon then I get it but if it's nothing you care for just skip them. They're not even real dex entries. Seruously, what corporate suit thought this up?

    So, you gather friends together to battle a Slowbro that's astronomically bulky just for Mega Energy so that you can use it to deal more damage in other raids and pick up one extra candy when catching something that's tied to its typing. This is one of the worst ideas Niantic could ever have come up with.

    In the beginning my long time friends and I used to do them but it quickly became apparent to us what we were finding out. These raid bosses are supposed to be in 3 stars. As soon as the catch screen showed up we all realized that we just used our precious Remote passes... to dex a 71% Blastoise. A 93% Gengar. I could've used those coins on a 5 Star or buy some

    When we get Legendary Megas then sure, I'll raid for those because Legendaries are 5 Star raid bosses.. But there should be no reason why Mega Pidgeot should not be in 3 Star raids from here on out. It just makes more sense.
