    Am I silly for wanting to see a face mask item in the style shop?

    It just seems like while so many of us are stuck at home our avatars could be wearing masks while they are ✌️outside✌️. Could be a good reminder/promotion to stay home/safe during these cautious times.

    Hello everyone, i wanna share with u guys something that my comunity is doing for the Abra CD

    i'm a brazilian player, i live on the state of Santa Catarina, São José city.

    Every month, on the comunity day, me, my friends, and the whole comunity, get together to play the CD in a sea shore park near here (beautiful place, btw), and we always collect donations (usually food), in trade of meltan boxes (not everyone in here can afford a nintendo switch). unfortunately, last month (march 2020), we couldn't reunite because of the covid-19 spread, and we didn't make the collection of the donations, so, the place that we usually help, start to missing essential food, that's when me and my friends from the comunity, decided to collect the food anyway, as we promise to give the meltans boxes when the pandemic is over. We sucessfully collected over 100lbs of food to donate to the Fabiano de Cristo home, a place that helps childrens, youngs and grown ups in need.

    I want to share this with u guys for two reasons:

    1- Everybody is facing a dificult time right now, so i hope that some good news like this, help to brighten your day, like it did to mine

    2- I hope that more of you guys feel inspired to do the same, because there is a lot of people out there that needs help, specially in a time like this

    BUG: Alakazam not learning Counter 1hr after community day hours

    Hello people, I had saved up all my good Abras that I caught during the event to sort through and evolve after 5pm, seeing as you are supposed to be able to evolve them and get counter until 7pm. I've evolved two so far, and they both learned psycho cut. Is this a bug? Is there anything I can do?

    We were comparing shiny and perfect Pokémon and she found a perfect shiny event pichu. I'm pretty jealous. From what we can tell it might be one of the rarest Pokémon in the game!

    PSA: Do your battles before community day, or you might be locked out by too many pokéballs

    Definitely not a complaint, this, because it's a wonderful problem to have, but: my buddy is bringing me 50ish balls every half an hour, and they go over your bag limit, so now I have (a) about 300 balls, which is wonderful (b) no way to collect my rare candy from winning three battles so I can start my next set of battles.

    If CD hasn't yet started for you, then, you might want to get all your battles in now before you find yourself having to throw away precious balls just to keep battling.

    Stay inside and wash your hands often!

    My Abra CD experience

    Currently, I'm 4 hours into CD and here's my take on it.

    Total Abra caught: 317

    Total shiny: 11

    Total 3*: 23

    Total 4*: 1

    I never get the windy weather so I won't get weather-boosted.

    Talking points:

    • flee rate is reduced, I'd only missed around 5 probably

    • the spawn rate is the same as last week's Incense Day, roughly 1 pokemon per half minute and it will mostly be Abra

    • the Pokemon turnover rate is also quite fast, probably within a minute

    • Field Research does change for the event to the usual CD research, which is catch 3 Abra

    • Shadow Abra/Kadabra becoming Alakazam does learn Counter and if Frustration had been removed, it won't be Frustration again upon evolving. No idea about Purified pokemon and Return.

    • Alazakam from the special paid research has Counter

    • evolving Shadow Abra/Kabadra also counts for the special paid research

    • I didn't pay attention whether my buddy did also bring some Pokeballs ➡ EDIT: I neglected my buddy and it seems the gift it brought contains 51 Pokeballs, that's the CD bonus

    • I also use lure and the spawn is a mix between Abra and nest/weather spawns

    • still can't stack incense, star piece, lucky egg...would have been the perfect time

    I think I'll play sparingly until 5pm now. My strategy today is I parked my car at a park and within reach of a gym and a stop to replenish Pokeballs.

    In general, really nice that Niantic changing the formula because of the pandemic.

    Help with adventure sync?

    I ran about 5km yesterday with adventure sync on and the app isn't registering my distance. I have all permissions enabled in settings and the health app. The health app has registered the full distance. Why isn't it working?

    When PoGo released, my girlfriend and I were among the first people in my little town to be out and about and seeking pocket monsters. Shortly after release—maybe 3-4 days?—I convinced my mom to download the app on her phone. Just download it, you can delete it if you don't like it, try it out, etc.

    Now coming up on the 4th anniversary, my mom is a level 37 player who is well-known in my community. My dad even plays too! She LOVES these little digital creatures, and even though she's not totally versed in Pokèmon lore/knowledge, she is determined to catch them all. Especially a shiny Milotic!

    This recent influx of Feebas spawns has her going nuts! She has been catching every single Feebas she sees in hopes that at least one of them will be shiny. None of hers have been, unfortunately.

    So yesterday, while we were on a trip to the grocery store, I was catching for her and myself. As luck would have it, I caught myself a shiny Feebas. I waited until we were almost home to be sure that she didn't also catch one, and when she didn't, I decided to make her day.

    I traded her my shiny Feebas in secret. She thinks she caught it. I did want to keep it, but I know she'll enjoy it much more than I would've. Shiny Feebas is great, but seeing my mom happy is better.

    I didn't know who else to tell, so I thought I'd tell Reddit. :)

    If I never see one of these things again, I'll be happy. It's basically a resource sucking punishment for doing well in battle league. You have to waste 10+ balls and berries to catch a trash legendary. What's the sense in that?
