    A wild shiny appeared!

    Posted: 22 Jun 2020 03:29 AM PDT

So I decided earlier this year to take a break from POKÉMON go, I uninstalled the app and moved on. But just yesterday I reinstalled it after being encouraged by a friend, so I reinstalled it and looked to see what was around me in my flat. I spotted a growlithe, 'oh nice I'll catch it, I don't see many of those' (at this point I had no idea it was a community day for fire types I'd chosen to return to the game on) So I catch it and it's a SHINY!

I'm almost certain that the fact a shiny growlithe was the first Pokemon I caught when I decided to return to the game is a sign that it was meant to be 😄shiny growlithe

The current egg pool needs completely reassembled

    Posted: 22 Jun 2020 07:51 AM PDT

Let's start with the 2km eggs: Currently they contain the unova and sinnoh starters, Swablu, wailmer, magikarp, Luvdisc, dwebble, and a bunch of unova trash- patrat, venipede, Lillipup, and purrloin. I can't speak for everyone, but in my opinion there is almost nothing to look forward to in this egg pool except for a shiny, which half of the options don't even have. Obviously since it's only 2km (or 1 km for the time being) that these eggs should be "bad". I just wish they had a bit more variety, maybe include some more gen 1 stuff or some more "uncommon", or idk maybe baby Pokémon since niantic seems to have forgotten about them.

Next we have 5km (my personal least favorites egg): I would state the current 5km egg pool, but tbh it seems to change with every event and idek if there is one published. This pool typically contains the regionals, featured in event Pokémon, and a few "rare" Pokémon such as roggenrola, and clampearl (very low % tho). The reason why I absolutely despise 5km is eggs is that they almost are completely useless. I live east coast US so my regionals are Tauros, seviper, panpour, illumise, solrock (which will switch to lunatone), and heatmor. Getting a regional is almost absolutely WORTHLESS. Why would I want to walk 5km just for the same Pokémon that I can almost certainly find in the wild everyday? And even worse, why do they continue to put featured event Pokémon in the egg pools? During the buddy up event volbeat, illumise, and Joltik were everywhere, so why would I want one from an egg? Almost every egg I hatched had one of those three Pokémon. Same thing is happening right now with solrock. It is so infuriating to hatch a Pokémon that you literally will see hundreds of in the wild. And the my biggest issue is the drop rates. Out of 30 eggs I received in the last two weeks, 21 of them were 5 km.

7km is eggs: I have little complaints with these eggs. Currently you can get the Galarian and Alolan forms from these eggs, which you can't usually get in the wild. It's nice because you can kind of choose when you want them; I just often forget to open a gift before I spin a stop. I know some complaints have arisen in the past about the gifts not dropping eggs enough, but I believe that it has been resolved. The fossils were annoying, but luckily they're gone. I miss the babies.

10km eggs: Arguably, these are the best eggs to receive. Currently you can get feebas, absol, shinx, gible, tirtouga, Audino, axew, deino, golett, riolu, Timburr, darumaka, alomomola, Klink, and litwick. Almost all of these are very rare in the wild. The issue with these eggs are: 1) they're rare- out of 30 eggs I only received 2 2) there's a super uneven percentage of what is hatched. The Silph road researched percents of what was hatched and and almost half of all 10 km egg hatches were golett, feebas, litwick, and ferroseed combined. Only about 2% were gible, 1% darumaka, 1% Axew. It's aggravating when you finally get a 10km, walk the 10km and end up with a useless feebas. However, it's is very rewarding when something good is finally hatched like a deino or gible. Other than increasing the drop rate and evenly distributing the hatch percentages, I think this egg pool is fairly balanced.

Final complaints: To my knowledge, it is almost impossible to get baby Pokémon right now. Although weak, the babies had increased shiny rates which were nice, and many had meta relevant evolutions. It's annoying that it is literally impossible to get most of the babies right now, especially togepi since togekiss is extremely useful in PvP and candy is needed. I don't understand why they can't be added to the 2km or 5km pool given how bland they currently are. Lastly, I wish shiny rates were increased for all egg Pokémon. They shouldn't be at the same rate as those in the wild because you have the chance to hatch 3-4 max a day unless you use bonus incubators, while you can click hundreds of wild spawns a day. I have hatched 1203 eggs and have only gotten one shiny, (party hat pichu which I am very pleased with don't get me wrong.) Please let me know any other suggestions you have or any criticisms on my post. It took me quite awhile to write and research, so any feedback is gladly received. Thanks.

TLDR: the egg pool is very bland and needs better Pokémon added in all categories. The drop rates of eggs from stops needs to be evenly distributed, baby Pokémon need to be added back, and the 10 km egg Pokémon need to have better percentages of what is hatched.

I hatched a Shiny Magby, so now I have a Shiny Magmar. I really should make the effort and evolve it into a Magmortor.

Why are the breakthrough rewards crap this year?

    Posted: 21 Jun 2020 11:47 PM PDT

It used to be all legendaries or event pokemon. Lapras was fine, but everything after is just pokemon you can find in the wild or solo-raid.

    I wish we could trade with friends without being nearby ;-;

    Posted: 22 Jun 2020 07:16 AM PDT

I think best friends should be able to trade without being nearby, I understand that this could make it so some region locked pokemon wouldn't be so exclusive but to get to best friends you need like at least 3 months of daily gift exchange.

I hate this daily pokecoin limit.

I put two pokemon in two different gyms and they always come back at like the same time so I end up only getting 50 coins where I should be getting 100. So what's the point in putting more then one pokemon in different gyms?

Rarest Pokemon you cought in the wild?

    Posted: 22 Jun 2020 06:05 AM PDT

Title says it. Mine was a wild Dragonite, waaaay back in 2016 when we had only Gen 1. It was only around 1500cp but for me that was crazy high. Never saw anything so rare ever again. I guess I used up all my luck that day.

Why do you get 4 lucky eggs for reaching level 40?

    Posted: 22 Jun 2020 07:50 AM PDT

I've been playing since day one, and finally reached level 40. If this is currently the max level why do you get 4 lucky eggs as a reward for reaching level 40?

    Raid Invite Preperation Suggestions

    Posted: 22 Jun 2020 08:46 AM PDT

I made this for fun and thought I'd share it here.

Things To Do Before Raid Invites

    • Do your best to get to level 30. Level 30 is more balanced and will allow you to catch Pokémon with CPs as high as level 35 that require no Stardust and can be used immediately if they have super effective or good neutral charge moves.

    • Save as many health and Golden Razz Berries as you can. I'd say that they should make up about 15-20% of your storage items. Also, remember to heal your fainted after each raid. Very important.

    • In addition to being weak to Dragon and Fairy, Zekrom is also weak to Ice and Ground which are most likely the 2 easiest of the 4 typings you can obtain depending on your area. So use budget picks with the highest CPs you have that require no Stardust with ground and ice charge moves for each battle. This will help you be far more productive in the future by saving you on resources. Be frugal.

    • Build at least 3 battle parties of 6 Pokémon with Ground, Ice, Dragon and Fairy charge moves if you haven't done so already.

    • Locate a raid group in your time zone or that fits your schedule. This is more effective if you build a rapport with that community so that you can be in-game friends so you can take advantage of those extra damage and Premier Ball bonuses. NOTE: Some groups operate on Facebook. Try doing a search for them by your community's name.

Things To Look Out For After Raid Invites

    • Do not raid or over do it if you don't have enough health items to heal your Pokémon. This is a really big problem I see a lot with locals in my community who have very limited space. They end up having little to no health items, 40 fainted Pokémon and nothing but CP 2000 and level 20 raid Pokémon to battle with. Just take a break.

My brother and I don’t get to see each other often so we try to trade as much as possible when we do. Today was Father’s Day so we were together for a while. Decided we should trade a bunch of our 2016 Pokémon since they have a high chance of being shiny.

A lot of them turned out to be lucky and he even got a lucky perfect that he was able to trade evolve. This was my first lucky so it was a nice experience.

    About recent spawns...

    Posted: 22 Jun 2020 05:12 AM PDT

In this week, my spawns had been like crazy. REAL CRAZY. First, there are many secondary-starters like Charmeleon and Dewott spawn near me, but also some classic but evolved forms like Arbok and Arcanine. I think I was just lucky, but I also had seen a BLISSEY SPAWN and a G A B I T E SPAWN. Yes, Gabite. But sadly I couldn't reach it cuz of coViD-19. What are the most craziest spawns for you?
