Posted: 18 Apr 2021 05:49 PM PDT I am usually one that cuts Niantic some slack in terms of the game and the bugs that it has. I think there are a lot of things that could be improved, that should be improved, but I still find this to be the best mobile game I have ever played. That being said, there is no reason that the double stardust can't remain in effect until Team GO Rocket returns. [link] [comments] |
| A talk on how the way I play has changed. Posted: 19 Apr 2021 05:00 AM PDT I started playing in 2016, and as everyone here will say, it was a beautiful time for it. Roaming around, going to woodland areas and water areas to see the different pokemon spawn. Hyping about roaming the stone jetty nearby to get that super exclusive gyarados that someone once said to have spawned. It was truly amazing. Definitely flawed, but even without all the interacritivity in terms of friends being there and trading etc. It felt good. Today I play very differently. Log on everyday, to keep an eye out for event pokemon candies, and any potential weird raids to pop up. My dex are almost full of all available pokemon (bar a few legendaries I missed). Now all it is to me is a numbers game. Getting the correct pokemon so that my chances in battle league are slightly above average, binning off any "dead weight" and rarely ever trading. It feels as though the game has become antithetical to it's original intent. My collection is a zoo of absurdly finely-picked pokemon, powered to the perfect level, which mean very little to me. There isn't much investment I can put into them. I hoard all of the good ones, and very rarely on occasion toss one or two that I don't need to a friend, for the research. Bar a few gifts sent begrudgingly back and forth since I don't need the items, that's all the interaction I have with other players. I mean at most I've done maybe 40 trades ever. I had a surreal moment a few weeks ago, between events. A friend and I went out to that stone jetty, and water pokemon were spawning as they did years ago, and it jolted me back to that feeling. I feel like the events system encourages regular play, but destroys that notion of 'let's go look in that area, might be cool stuff that spawns'. I post this loving diatribe because I'm wondering how other people would describe this feeling, and to dig deeper into understanding how I feel with it myself. I want to know; how has it changed for you? What you have done to combat that feeling? Do you hold any hope of getting any of that feeling back? What changes would you want (that aren't new) to enjoy this game like you used to? [link] [comments] |

Finally our towns and pokemon are safe, the peace feels good while it lasts... Team Rocket is defeated, only to be replaced by a new evil team, but wait... Double trouble?! | Possible way to make PoGo playable for rural players Posted: 18 Apr 2021 10:52 PM PDT Niantic could implement something similar to the Rocket Ballon system for Pokestops (even tho they are broken right now RIP). The game could have a check every 1, 3, 6, or even 12 hours that would look for Pokestops in the players vision. If this were to come back with 0 stops near the player, a player only Pokestop would appear, similar to the ballons. This would be spin-able for like 15 minutes or something. (max 3 spins?) This would provide the Rural player with a few items. Gifts could just be Prof Oak or your buddy Pokemon or something, allowing them to get gifts as well. If Niantic was going to be really nice, they could have these Temp-Stops also provide some kind of Incense spawns for the player. If it spawned like 5-15 pokemon I don't believe that would be unfair to anyone. A real stop would always be better, plus it would allow players to get the daily "spin a Stop" task completed if they can't reach a real one. I honestly don't think they would lose money from this either, maybe a little from rural players using incense to get some spawns but other than that I can't think of anything. Opinions? | Niantic needs to change the remote raid invitation process. Posted: 18 Apr 2021 02:36 PM PDT Remote raids have been a godsend during the pandemic, allowing us to battle with friends while remaining socially distant, and allowing to join raids from anywhere in the world. As great as that feature is, the process of inviting a friend to a raid is flawed and offputting. The number of times I've received a raid invitation, opened the app, and missed out on the raid entirely because of the late notification is too high to count. Today, I tried to join a raid but had to watch two eggs hatch first (another process that needs revision) and missed the raid. I'd like to propose getting rid of the short timer once a person enters the raid lobby. This would allow ample time for invites, setting battle lineups, using any items such as a lucky egg, and ensuring every trainer who wants to participate can still enter a raid. The 45 minute timer still applies, but this would allow an extra buffer so raid passes are actually in use and not wasted or left alone. The game could be massively improved though simplification of the raid process by eliminating the short countdown, speeding up notification sending speed, and prioritizing raid invites over any other in-game content. I never lag whatsoever. (I have an Iphone XR) Now then. EVERY. DAMN. TIME. I do a legendary raid and I throw my golden razz the Pokéball starts lagging, the Pokéball starts flying on top of my screen, The Pokéball starts spinning like a mad man when I don't even touch it. It'd be nice to see some of the stuff that's only been in event eggs up to now, or that hasn't been in events/local spawns/research. Give me a good shot at Axew! At Tirtouga! Mine would have to be Nidoran and Chimchar. Sweet and cute as they are, I already have all of the evolutions and all of the shinies. I was so surprised when I saw Niantic said that they disable Go Rocket because it got a bug. I think about the GBL immediately. | Scan Pokestop- option not even showing up. Posted: 19 Apr 2021 07:10 AM PDT So when i get an AR mapping task, even if i am next to the stop, when i go to the task, it doenst show the scan pokestop option expect sometimes when I'm not even near the stop, and even then, it won't load.
