Niantic is REMOVING increased PokeStop and Gym interaction distance. Let them know how removing one of the best features they have ever added is a massive mistake.

I created a petition to gather community support to KEEP increased interaction distance. Sign it to let Niantic know that they are breaking our trust by removing what they once said would be a permanent addition. http://chng.it/hspntWy7Bd

Edit: Thank you all for the support. Gaming Journals are publishing articles about the situation, and they know that the players aren't happy. Keep sharing, and Niantic will have no choice but to respond.

If they keep forwards with their stupid reverts

    Posted: 22 Jun 2021 03:27 AM PDT

If they keep forward with these reverts, remote passes nerf, incense nerf and stop radius nerf everyone should stop playing and let Niantic go FTS. Not sure which company is worse for their players, Activision or Niantic. I think Niantic will win the award because in 4 (5 almost) years they never ever listened to ANY single feedback and this billion dollar company cannot even code properly. WTH seriously.

The playerbase should stay strong together and let them feel how their paying players feel for a VERY LONG TIME, f*cked over.

    Sign this petition please!!

The benefits of a larger PokéStop & Gym Radius + increased spawn rate of Incense.

    Posted: 21 Jun 2021 03:24 PM PDT

Over the past year, we have experienced a double to the interaction radius of PokéStops and Gyms. However, that is going to change starting after GO Fest. People have been clamoring for this to be kept as a permanent addition. However, Niantic insists on changing it back, as well as nerfing the spawn rate of Incense to its pre-special bonuses days.

I've known people who have been very grateful for the increased interaction range. People with physical disabilities were able to interact with PokéStops and Gyms that they were unable to before. The increase in the spawn rate of Incense also made it ten times better. Now people who had played more because of the special bonuses will no longer be able to play/won't be as inclined to play. Less players = less money for Niantic, meaning that it would be a morally and financially bad decision to take away these bonuses.

So that is why we have started a petition to keep these bonuses at https://www.change.org/p/niantic-keep-increased-pokestop-and-gym-interaction-distance. If Niantic sees how much we want these bonuses, they might just reconsider their decision to remove them. So please, support this petition and the bonuses might be here for good.

I am a new player who started playing during the pandemic. I cannot imagine this game without the covid bonuses.

    Posted: 21 Jun 2021 09:24 PM PDT

I don't think I'll get used to the decreased stop radius, I am still not over the egg distance nerf. I am almost level 44 after starting in July 2020 and have dropped close to $300 on a children's mobile game without shame. Personally the incense nerf doesn't mean much to me nor do I care about the GBL. But being able to not have to cross a 6 lane street to reach a raid or drop off a pokemon at a Gym is something I don't want to take for granted. Please reconsider this, Niantic!

Are you considering quitting the game because of the newly announced changes and have purchased a GoFest ticket? Please contact Customer Support and ask for a refund.

    Posted: 22 Jun 2021 07:25 AM PDT

This is a way people can protest directly with their wallets. Please do not expect to receive one, and certainly do not contact customer support if you aren't thinking of quitting or haven't purchased the ticket.

Something I've always wanted to do.

    Posted: 21 Jun 2021 04:16 PM PDT

So my fathers favourite Pokémon was Zubat (I know, what a guy) and he wanted to get one in Pokémon GO and take make it his buddy forever even though he knew it wasn't strong he just wanted to have it.

Sadly he passed away before he could get the Zubat because as when he got into Pokémon GO they were not spawning in my area and he had limited mobility but wouldn't let anyone else do it so he couldn't travel and find one either.

Yesterday which was fathers day, I caught a Zubat. This Zubat was a 100% perfect Zubat. So I named it after him and set it as my buddy for the day as a remembrance for him on Fathers day.

I know it's not any crazy story or anything but it made me really happy and I thought I'd share this story with you guys too to let you know that if you ever lose a loved one they are always with you somehow forever! You just have to keep their memory alive and they'll live on in you! Well now, my dad lives on in a perfect IV Zubat and I know he'd love the hell out of that.

Reversed Distance in the new update

    Posted: 22 Jun 2021 12:14 AM PDT

Why on earth would they ever think reversing distance is a good idea?

The only possible upside to this is that it gets you going out but for a lot of people that isn't possible, or able to happen frequently, especially seeing as the pandemic isn't even over in many countries. Many people, myself included, can no longer reach stops from their homes, making it absolutely miserable to try and complete 7 day streaks, if not impossible.

It was such an unnecessary change and it genuinely might ruin the game for me, and many other players from reactions I've already seen, as the game will feel almost unplayable compared to what it was.

Let's just hope to god Niantic can listen on this one thing, because if anything could kill the game, this is it

Pokémon GO has become incredibly Pay to Win and Anti-Consumer over these past few years: The Addendum (Bugs and removal of Quality of Life updates).

    Posted: 22 Jun 2021 10:07 AM PDT

Wow, I genuinely cannot believe what is currently going on. After the controversies described in my previous post, I thought Niantic might change things for the better. But of course, that did not happen. The game actually became worse!

One of the most egregious examples of this is version 0.211.0. I don't have words for how broken this update is. The fundamental aspects of the game: broken. Freezing/Crashing: That's a yep from me. The update was so bad, that it could potentially give people seizures!

That's not even the worst part of this recent Pokémon GO disaster. Recently, Niantic announced that they would be removing the increased interaction range of PokéStops and Gyms, as well as the increased effectiveness of Incense while not moving.

Both the increased interaction range of PokéStops and Gyms and the increased effectiveness of Incense while not moving were great QOL features. They allowed people that were unable to interact with PokéStops and Gyms beforehand to get items, battle, earn PokéCoins, and so much more.

However, Niantic seems to not even care about how them taking away these features will affect so many people. However, I do have some ways to Niantic to listen to us:

    ——————————————————————————

    1: Petition

There are thousands of people who want these features kept and feel as though they are beneficial to the game as a whole. The petition to keep the increased interaction range of PokéStops and Gyms at http://chng.it/xYfMf5pH has over 20,000 people voting on keeping the increased interaction range. So I strongly advise you to vote.

    2: Money

Money is the ultimate weapon. If we don't like something, we should have our wallets do the talking. DO NOT SPEND MONEY! This will show Niantic that we don't want these features removed. Then they might reconsider. So at all costs, DO NOT SPEND.

    ——————————————————————————

We need to stand together. If Niantic sees we want something, and we are vocal about it, they might be inclined to fix it. Pokémon GO Fest 2021 is in less than a month, so we need to show Niantic how much we care.

    Thank you for reading,

    Pokemon Go fails Accessibility

    Posted: 22 Jun 2021 09:27 AM PDT

Not every trainer is able bodied so the fact that these new exploration bonuses and incense/distance nerfs are taking place upsets me. I CAN walk but for those that can't or for those that don't want to interact with others because of social anxiety just grinds my gears to no end. Forcing trainers to be a specific way is a detriment to player morale and I hope it Giga Impacts the sales reports.

The new bonus updates in the perspective of a rural player

    Posted: 22 Jun 2021 08:50 AM PDT

●K. Lets keep it simple and honest. ●Started playing in 2017. ●Travelled 10-12km for a single pokestop. ●Rarely any spawns in my area so thats that. ●Stopped playing in 2018 due to no pokestops. ●Came back to play in 2021 march. ●A single pokestop already added in my area. ●A gym along with 2 pokestop was added 5km away from my home. ●The gym is always occupied by spoofers. ●Currently under intermediate lockdown, needs travel declaration to go to city if you use private transport.

Now lets get to what will happen after the bonus updates are implemented. ●reduced gifts means reduced gifts from other players. So short on pokeballs ●incense effectiveness reduction means 75% less spawns and yeah community days are fkd up ●the problem with reduced distance in a remote place with a lot of house around causes people to wonder what im doing there just watching my phone all alone.(Not many people even know about this game) ●and last but not least, if they nerf the RRP, my last chance for getting a legendary is gone. As a guy who grew up watching pokemon anime, catching the legendary is the most fun thing.

So the result is the last player in my area playing the game will stop playing. And thats confirmed.

Do Pokémon have different rates at which they bring XL candy from walking?

    Posted: 22 Jun 2021 09:35 AM PDT

I recently farmed lickitung xl and it would bring an xl candy every other candy. Now I'm trying to do the same with aloan ninetails but it seems to bring 2 xl after every 15 normal candy. This is so difficult considering the mileage you have to do

    Shiny odds

    Posted: 22 Jun 2021 10:21 AM PDT

I have a very important question about shiny odds for y'all. This question came up because I was searching for the shiny odds of two pokemon (in the past 6 days I've gotten a shiny Eevee and a shiny Gastly which are both pokemon I've been trying to find the shiny of) on Silph road, and it had past community days as one of the shiny options, so I was wondering, if after a community day, the shiny odds remain 1/25 or if it goes back to normal? Ty for responding!

Living in the middle of nowhere

    Posted: 21 Jun 2021 11:30 PM PDT

Is anyone else still getting no roads or pokestops on the map where they live? I'm on the southern end of Tasmania and there's not even a road map for my driveway lmao It sucks seeing others being able to have so much fun and then me being stuck in "the middle of nowhere" having no pokestops or roads nearby

Map bug still appearing in some places (petition)

    Posted: 22 Jun 2021 08:14 AM PDT

The map bug Niantic claims to be resolved still persists in some areas of the world. Niantic does not acknowledge the bug, so they are not doing anything to fix it.

Bug description: Maps may load incorrectly – such as Pokéstops, Gyms and Pokémon not appearing outside of the immediate vicinity of player location. When trainers open the app, Pokéstops, Gyms and Pokémon will load close by to the player, but as trainers walk through the map they will stop loading to the map at the new location.

I started a petition to demand Niantic to acknowledge and fix the bug as soon as possible. If you are experiencing the bug or want to help, please sign the petition: https://www.change.org/p/niantic-fix-the-map-bug-in-pokémon-go

    No Shadow Ho-oh?

    Posted: 22 Jun 2021 12:04 AM PDT

    Hey Reddit!

So i just wrecked Giovanni's face.. but my game bugged out when i clicked rescue pokemon and didn't get the encounter as i was stuck on an empty world map with no icons, so had to restart and the balloon was gone ofc. :c

A few minutes later, i got a message from my GF that she also defeated Gio and when she recieved the items, her game bugged out right before the rescue prompt and she got thrown onto the map without getting to encounter Ho-Oh...

Is this a common bug atm? Or are we just extremely unlucky x.x

Edit: I got gifted a new Super Rocket Radar, guess i'll have to go on a rocket pokestop hunt soon! :)
