| Community open letter to Niantic Posted: 05 Aug 2021 09:19 AM PDT Niantics woefully inadequate response. https://nianticlabs.com/blog/pgo-exploration-bonus-response/?hl=enRule 1b concerning witch hunting and brigading is relaxed for the duration of this mega thread(This post is made in collaboration with several YouTubers, News Orgs and other Pokemon GO Talent) Dear Niantic, Community and Creators alike wish to voice our concern and disappointment over recent changes to the Pokéstop interaction radius reduction in Pokémon GO. While the Pokéstop/POI interaction radius was increased due to an unprecedented global pandemic, the flow on effects of this in-game change have had a far greater positive impact on the community. The increased Pokéstop interaction radius created the following benefits for Trainers worldwide: Safety Not needing to cross dangerous roads to reach or interact with a point of interest. Not 'needing' to trespass on private property to reach or interact with a point of interest. Provided the ability to play and interact from a sheltered shared location e.g. under trees, awnings or shelters to avoid hazardous weather conditions. Playing from safe locations and not entering areas that would be detrimental to personal safety. This includes preventing a risk to safety via interpersonal crimes, theft, environmental hazards, dangerous locations etc. General personal safety for social distancing during the ongoing global pandemic. Accessibility Many disabled Trainers could now interact with locations that previously excluded them from the Pokémon GO community. This includes interacting with Gyms and Pokéstops that would otherwise be inaccessible due to stairs, steep inclines or other physical barriers. All while being very generously within visual range of the point of interest. Trainers with autism and sensory conditions could engage with the community from a more accomodating distance. Allowing them to play with the community but not be overwhelmed by large crowds or triggering locations. Trainers with young children or in a position of care could more safely interact with points of interest while maintaining a safe environment for those in their care. Respect Greater courtesy and respect to non-Trainers in the community by way of not crowding or blocking entry to businesses, private property, playgrounds, emergency services, places of worship or memorials. With how diverse and unique members of the Pokémon GO community are, this is likely only a small handful of examples of the way in which the increased interaction radius helped us enjoy the game to a greater extent. As mentioned in the November 19th 2020 blog update for Pokémon GO, Trainers were given the impression this increased Pokéstop interaction radius would be made permanent: "Some of these changes will remain implemented for the foreseeable future, such as the ability to raid remotely, changes to the GO Battle League, and the increased distance at which you can spin Photo Discs at Gyms and PokéStops". The removal of this feature will and is impacting the community in countless negative ways. One of the three pillars of Niantic's core philosophy, as communicated by founder and CEO John Hanke, is exploration. Mr Hanke, exploration and the desire to explore was never negatively impacted by the increased Pokéstop interaction radius. The thing negatively impacting exploration is the global pandemic. We request the increased interaction radius remains a permanent quality of life change in Pokémon GO. The recent Exploration Bonus changes we've made in the U.S. and New Zealand are designed to restore some of the foundational elements players enjoyed prior to 2020, and reward players once again for moving and exploring. Encouraging people to explore, exercise and safely play together in person remains Niantic's mission. The health and wellbeing of players is our top priority, which is why we have implemented the new Exploration Bonuses in select geographies where it is deemed safe to be outdoors. Research has shown that taking walks outside is safe and confers several health benefits. Furthermore, encouraging outdoor exploration is in keeping with Niantic's mission. That said, we will continue to monitor health and safety guidance related to outdoor activities, and will make future changes if necessary. The only thing they got right here was that you guys are indeed a passionate bunch (trust me ive seen the karma dips and rises for everything lol) At best this is a hurry up and wait. At worst the communities desires do not coincide with their "foundational elements" which if they were not tone deaf they would have heard from all of you that those foundational elements are at their core flawed. If the health and well being of the players was their priority the change would not have happened yet. No where did they say they would go back to 80m.So trainers, what do you(we) do now? | This game is literal �� right now. Posted: 05 Aug 2021 03:55 PM PDT Spinning pokeball in BL every match the entire match. Lag with every encounter. Lag with every animation. Lag with every gift. I truly believe that Niantic gives no shits about the actual player base at this point. Billions and billions and can't even make the main gameplay Lag free now let alone battle league. I have a brand new phone with great service and a great internet connection but I can't play the game. My 4 year old has always like to catch mons on my phone. She finally yesterday got her own tablet and we installed it. The Lag was so bad she looked up at me and said daddy this isn't fun anymore it's too hard to throw it, and it's all skippy not like on your phone. Well my phone is the same... Niantic you suck! | Rewarded 50 coins after your 8 hours regardless of knocked out or still In a gym Posted: 06 Aug 2021 07:16 AM PDT The one thing that annoys me when I'm trying to save coins is that it relies on other players to fulfil my achievement after a time cap that confirms I've achieved it aka 50 coin 8 hour limit. I get that up until 8 hours if you're knocked out a gym you only get the coins for how ever long and that's great.. but after the cap of 50 at 8 hours, do you not agree that we should be rewarded the 50 coins and then it maybe is no more for that gym until u are again knocked out. This would push people to take more gyms rather than just one close to them constantly, and help save your coins when you're owed them? [link] [comments] |

When I first started playing the trading card game. I remember asking one of my friends on the bus for a card to get me started. Lo and behold he gives me a lotad. I didn't have a Ledyba hundo or shiny yet, so this just hit two birds with one stone. | Posted: 06 Aug 2021 08:33 AM PDT I have this problem when I start the game, the loading screen bar always stops halfway and after a while I get the failed to log in message. When I sign out and back in it works but after opening the game again after closing it it does the same. Anyone else have this issue or any theories on why its happening? | Posted: 05 Aug 2021 03:03 PM PDT So I've been grinding go battle league, fighting swamperts and machamps every other game, and I've finally reached level 20, which was my goal, to hopefully get some dialgas ( I can't keep buying remote raid passes ) and I can't win a single game. I've lost due to not being favoured when I click the charge move button, small lags, and other ridiculously small margins. I've not been able to get more than 1 win in each set. It's so frustrating! I'm just sitting there attacking the raid boss and I lose a chunk of health out of nowhere... no charged attack. Sometimes it's back-to-back with an actual charged attack I was prepared for. Posted: 05 Aug 2021 05:38 PM PDT This sounds cheesy but sending gifts to my pokemon friends is one of my favorite things to do - usually I will collect 20 gifts at a time, send those out and repeat as there is a nice park next to my house I can walk, bike, or jog through to get them. I've been sick for the last few days and it seems like I may have a break through covid case - I am okay just sleepy, feeling a bit crummy, and obviously unable to leave my house for the time being. I have done the rename your pokemon to "inviteme2raids" thing before, I was wondering if there was a universal pokemon name for "sorry I can't send gifts I would if I could". I feel like a jerk because they keep sending my gifts and I am not sending any back! [link] [comments] |
