Covid is a hot topic for a lot of subs right now because.... Well people are dying by the hundreds of thousands.

Due to Niantics flip flopping on Covid bonuses this spurred a lot of talk here about Covid. These conversations lead to manual bans for misinformation contrary to government guidelines on the topic.

These manual bans lead to brigading by communities that Reddit has now banned and quarantined.

Based on that we have decided to reopen.

Whether you agree or not with the measure, it cannot be said that it did not work. Voices are always stronger together, and as we were directly impacted by the actions of these bad acting communities, we decided to help lead the charge.

Many users were redirected to this self post by me, that I just locked right before making this post. I have left almost all the comments live so you can see what kind of nonsense we have been dealing with behind the scenes and removing before most of you guys get to see it. This post was obviously brigaded by NNN, as it is a self post, and I had shared it with srd and users in modmail to explain why we were closed.

Now imagine that being amplified onto a sub with 3 million users, and a lot more traffic.... We normally ban around 100 users a month collectively as a mod team. I single handedly banned 1000 users in 3 days, and almost all of them were from WRD and NNN.

WRD's head mod was also deplatformed, and reddit forced a rule change on the sub, so hopefully that resolves the issue for this community at least.

There have been a plethora of news articles that referenced us, and I am happy to be part of this community.

Saferbot ban appeal process

A lot of people got banned recently. Like.... A lot. It was a last ditch effort to curb brigading here.

Saferbot has been disabled, as reddit took action against most the communities involved as seen in the other pinned post. This is about how to get unbanned if you were not the intended target of the Wide ass net we cast.

If each step is not followed the request will simply be ignored.

There is way too much data to sift through manually. If you want to be unbanned, we will need your help to do so.

First, we will need a link to you commenting previously in NoNewNormal(I don't think this one is possible now as they are banned, but we will see what happens) Conservative, or conspiracy. Those where the only 3 subs we blacklisted as they have a lot of overlap with the others.

Second, if you commented about covid in those subs, please link us to it. If your comments have never had anything to do with covid, please indicate as much.

Third, link to your last comment here on PokemonGo. If you have no comments here, please indicate that they do not exist.

We recognize there are good faith users trying to inform others about dangers of not following health guidelines in those communities, and we do not want to punish them. The bot could not discern intent, only participation.
