I have been sitting in the quest since August when I caught a Groudon as my only legendary, three days before I unlocked that part of the quest. I have no one to play with and the closest raid group is 45 minutes from my house. My town has 4 pokestops and 2 gyms which I can hold for weeks on end at times. It really seems like the company really just does not want rural players to succeed and it is super frustrating. Sorry, just needed to rant.

The best buddy medal is ridiculous

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 02:11 PM PST

The new best buddy medal requires 100 best buddies for gold.

You need 300 hearts for each best buddy. Realistically I'd say a decently commited player could get 10 per buddy per day on average.

If you're a casual player like me who only walks one buddy at a time, the 100 best buddy medal will take you over eight years if you get 10 hearts per day. Think about it. How many things have you managed to consistently do daily for the past 8 years?

The intended method of getting this medal seems to be to swap to your max 20 buddies per day, feed them all, and walk them all. I live in a pretty dense area and I don't think I even collect enough berries per day to do this.

The good news: If you walk 120km per day and spend $20 on poffins to double your hearts, you can breeze through this medal in just under 58 days. In this time you will have spent 116000 pokecoins (well over $1000 worth) and walked nearly 7000km.

Rocket Stops Should Have a Timer on Them

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 09:49 AM PST

How many times has a situation similar to this happened to you:

You open up your app and see two rocket stops a couple blocks away from you. You think, "Oh sweet! I could use a break from what I'm doing now anyway", and you start heading towards them.

However, right before you reach the first rocket stop it disappears and becomes just a regular one. so then you think, "Aw man that sucks, oh well I'll be able to get one rocket stop at least, right?" I think you all know where this is going...

Right before you reach the second rocket stop it disappears as well and you walk home salty and empty-handed.

Would a simple timer that shows up when you click on a rocket stop be too much to ask? I'm honestly surprised it hasn't already been implemented.

    Trash reward Pokemon

    Posted: 05 Mar 2020 06:54 AM PST

I really wish we had an option to flee and not have to catch reward pokemon. I hate having to catch some of reward pokemon for gl or even the task reward ones. It's a waste of balls for a pokemon that I have a million of. I just got my dozenth snorelax and I've seriously used 30 balls(inc. Ultras w/golden berry's) and he's popped out all of them. I don't want this mon to begin with! Let us flee these like wild pokemon or let us capture it after so many tries.

[Mild Rant] The Field Research rewards are freakin' ANCIENT!

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 11:49 AM PST

We need Gen 4 and Gen 5 mons in the Field Research, NOW.

Aside from Spinda, Chansey and Electabuzz, there is NOTHING in March that interests me. Mankey is there TWICE. WHY? They are EVERYWHERE IN THE WILD. Mankey is more numerous than Zigzagoon in my area!

This kind of throttling of the two recent Gen rollouts really kills my enthusiasm for firing up the game for my morning commute because I have nothing new to anticipate catching. Forget about wild spawns. I see a Gen 4 or Gen 5 mon MAYBE once a week.

I don't care if the Tasks are hard, either. All my Goletts came from 3 Excellent Throws in a Row, and my hundo Larvitar came from that as well.

GIVE US SOME NEW MONS FER CHRISSAKES.

    *ahem*

Thank you for coming to my Ted Rant.

Bottle Caps for walking with Best Buddy

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 04:21 PM PST

I have been loving the Buddy feature but as soon as I get a new Best Buddy I am off to the next. I think it would give us way more of an incentive if Niantic allowed us to earn 1 Bottle Cap per 50km walked with your Best Buddy that can be used for that Best Buddy and that Best Buddy Only.

I really want Niantic to add Bottle Caps to the game and think that this would be an amazing reward and a great way for it to be added to the game.

I just went 5/5 master league rank 7

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 06:44 PM PST

Ok so this might not seem very impressive, but just some background, I'm level 33 and I have 0 stardust at the moment. I also made a post a few days ago complaining about how annoying master league is for players like me. I had been going 0/5 usually, 2/5 the best. So going 5/5 for me? That's honestly just mind blowing. My team consists of a 3000 cp dragonite with dragon breath and dragon claw, 2600 cp machamp with counter and dynamic punch, and a 3300 cp rhyperior with smack down and stone edge, so I didn't even use a legendary. I was going up against people with like 4000 cp kyogres and mewtwos, so idk I'm pretty proud of this, just wanted to share. It's just so great after just making a post ranting about master league.

5 premium passes later and worth it...

    Posted: 05 Mar 2020 07:27 AM PST

I have been playing since launch and have only had the opportunity to do 1 five star raid with the appropriate amount of people and we lost :( So, I was extremely excited to hear you have a chance to encounter the current raid legendary- Thundurus as a reward from winning battles in GBL.

I decided to use the premium passes since it would only require 2 wins to get the reward rather than 4 ( I am currently at rank 7). I ended up using about 5 passes I believe and even though you can achieve getting this Pokemon with only one pass in a raid, it was still very rewarding to me because this was the first legendary I had every caught outside of a research breakthrough.

I am really hoping they keep this method around to obtain other legendary Pokemon in the future. What are your opinions on this? :)

Got really lucky with my first Research Breakthrough Ferroseed

    Posted: 05 Mar 2020 06:16 AM PST

I really wasn't excited for this new Research Breakthrough since it's not a legendary, cant be shiny, and I already had a few Ferroseed, but today luck was on my side. This just makes me wonder why I couldn't ever be this lucky when the Research Breakthrough gave legendaries and shinies.

How will Meloettas forms work in pogo?

    Posted: 05 Mar 2020 04:21 AM PST

In the main games, Meloetta has its main form, Aria, which is normal/psychic. It can use the move relic song to change back and forth with its other form, Pirouette, which is normal/fighting. I can't imagine how they would implement relic song into pogo, so how do you think it will work? I think they will just have the forms seperate and not able to be changed, which I would actually prefer.

If you leave during a GO League battle does the other trainer get the win

    Posted: 05 Mar 2020 03:31 AM PST

I have been leaving when I see I have no chance to win - on to the next one. But I thought I read somewhere that you both get a loss if you do that. Kudos to you for beating me and you should get the win. I just want to know if I should ride out the full 3 battles so that happens.

I decided to do the 9x9 hatch with 10K eggs and here's the results.

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 03:24 PM PST

Surprisingly, I only got one Feebas from this batch of hatches. This is the first time I had gotten nine 10K eggs at the same time and I had been saving all of the incubators I had gotten randomly from stops and events just to do this. Unfortunately, no Shiny or Hundo hatches and only three of the nine were 3*, but I'm still satisfied with what I got. First photo is just to prove that they were all 10K.

EDIT: 3x3, I'm not good with numbers.

Abra flee rate & Community Day

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 11:11 AM PST

It occurred to me that Abra is one son of a glitch to catch. Flee rate is 99% so if you don't catch it with the first ball, good night Irene. There's gonna be some frustration because of this, maybe even missed shinies. Or you need to be constantly pushing razzberries just to catch, when you really wanted to use pinaps for more candy... What do you think? Might Niantic go as far as temporary lowering the flee rate or is it just business as usual? Maybe Niantic will sell silver pinap boxes... 😃

It's okay to take a break from an event in Pokemon Go

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 10:44 AM PST

As a hardcore day one player I try to play every event, and back when they had an event every so often it was doable because I never felt burnt out. Now I feel like there is just way to much going on in terms of events and it is burning me out. Between an event happening every weekend and events during the week I can't keep up with it all.

For instance recently I decided I wouldn't do the Nidorino and Gengar Party Hat event because it just didn't interest me that much to want to go out and do the event. Then for the events coming up in March I think I will skip Shiny Cobalion because it's not really a good mon in terms of PVP or raiding and even if it was I know Niantic will come back with it eventually. Even if they don't I already plan to use my raid passes for Shiny Darkrai anyway. Darkrai has so much going for it in terms if viability in PVP and even in raiding as well.

That is going to be my strategy going forward and you might think I am doing this to boycott Niantic and that is not true. I don't want to have that fear of missing out on events and have Niantic capitalize on it plus I am sure aside from myself that we all have a life aside from Pokemon Go. This is also not an attack on those who are hardcore and actually do every event either. This is just a message that you can take breaks away from games that even if there is an event going on it's better to pause and ask yourself "Do I REALLY want what this event has to offer?" At the end of the day if you give yourself into a game too much you are going to get burnt out and not want to play anymore. You can love a game and take a break from it if the game starts to stress you out.
