I understand the starters having low catch rate but bunnelby and fletchling are stupidly hard to catch to the point that I just won't bother. And now they release vanillite, a fairly common event pokemon THAT HAS A RED CATCH CIRCLE AT 10 CP! I have used absolutely all my great and ultra balls, as well as golden raspberries, just to be catch them and even then I've had multiple run after consuming 10+ ultra balls. It's absurdly hard and sucks the fun out of the game. Why release a new pokemon if it is basically impossible to catch without golden raspberries and ultra balls? | Ah, Vanillite, the new pseudo legendary on the block Posted: 23 Dec 2020 04:39 AM PST I've had easier times catching legendaries than some Vanillites lately and in light of Fletchling and Bunnelby I cannot help but fear what Niantic has in store for us in the following months concerning the rest of Gen 5, as well as the following Generations. If a comically unpopular Pokemon like Vanillite already has a catch rate that bad, what about the fan favourites? Tynamo, Zorua, as well as 6th Gen favourites like Honedge? How many golden razz will we need to catch one of them? I can only urge them to overthink this change in pace, because I'm sure as hell not willing to walk 10 km just to watch 70% of the Mons I need to farm escape into the wild after I wasted 10 golden razzes with Hyperballs on them. I'm happy to work towards the new evolutions; I don't feel the need to unlock them all in the first few days. But the catch rates on all these new releases are absurd. I saw a 752 CP Vanillite earlier and, honest to god, the thought that crossed my mind was "how am I ever going to catch this?" Never mind the 2500CP+ legendaries I catch with base-rate Premium balls! Never mind the final stage evolutions I see spawning and catch without worry! No, this first-stage crappy Pokemon at <1000CP made me waste ten bloody Ultra balls, because even with the top end ball its circle is this shade of blood orange. 450CP Fletchlings are red with a red ball. 300CP Bunnelbies, too. It's utterly ridiculous, and it's not making the game more engaging, it's making it more frustrating. I don't want every Pokemon handed to me on a platter, not at all, but this has gone too far the other way. EDIT: to those saying "spin more stops": it's not about resources, it's about respecting my time as a player. I don't want every Pokemon to be a guaranteed catch, no, but nor should every Pokémon be an unnecessary waste of my time. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 22 Dec 2020 08:28 PM PST Honestly, I did make an effort and I probably could make it still as i´m a little bit over halfway thru 39 but all the effort it would take me just doesn´t seem worth it, i have a life and better things to do that spend all day playing a game trying to make excellent throws. The worst part is that it makes me want to play less and not more, some days I don´t even want to open the app, feels like i should try because i´m really close, but it also feels like an annoying chore and i don´t want to do it anymore, so i´m officially quitting that mindless grind, i´m not going to get even close to the new levels anytime soon anyway I just feel like the time they gave us, from the moment they announced the benefits of getting to level 40 mid novemeber to last day of december, was just too short. And this is coming from someone that was halfway thru level 38. I hope those benefits for level 40 are good for those that make it, because honestly the effort is insane if you weren´t already close to it. Wish everyone a merry christmas! [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 22 Dec 2020 07:39 PM PST I quit this game around 2 years ago because I could never get any legendaries since could never find a group to raid with and obviously can't beat 5 star raid solo. It became impossible to progress in this game. I came back recently during the pandemic and was so glad to find out remote raiding was made available. I could go to a 5 star raid and invite friends or go on pokemongofriends & find friends to join raids. I was finally able to obtain legendaries! It made me so happy. Reading thay January will offer 5 legendaries that I missed and a brand new one is getting me so excited! Can't wait to complete my pokédex! [link] [comments] |

| An open comment to those who can reach a pokestop or gym from their house Posted: 23 Dec 2020 05:42 AM PST do you have any idea how lucky you are??? at my house I can see one pokestop half a mile away, but no gyms and nothing spawns at my house. I am visiting my parents house for Christmas (I dont see them often but we've all separately had covid fairly recently so that influenced our risk assessment of visiting, not that I need to justify my decisions to internet strangers but I didn't want to get roasted for it) and there is a gym AND a pokestop within reach. there are always spawns when I open the game. life is great. just appreciate what you've got, I dont mind not having much around me since it forces me to get out and play, but hot damn this is a nice change of pace [link] [comments] |

I feel like it's easier to catch a legendary pokemon. The new update messed everything up, it's crazy how even low level pokemons can escape balls. Doesn't even matter the quality of the throw, great/excellent, they'll get out regardless and they might flee. Nobody wants to waste berries and pokeballs. It's completely ridiculous. I've never seen a low level pokemon jumpin outta a ball in a pokemon game. This is... uh... i don't wanna keep going. Niantic, fix your damn game and fix pokemon catch rate. even fix the damn berry bug ( whenever you give a berry to your pokemon the game freezes and you gotta close and relaunch the app). | 26,000 Exp instead of 40,000 on Dec 22nd-23rd event Posted: 23 Dec 2020 12:38 AM PST Basically as the title states, I noticed that on some occasions, the game would give me 26,000 exp instead of 40,000 for completing the 5-star raid against Kyurem. From what I understand, from Dec 22-23rd, we get 2x Raid exp. If we pop a lucky egg, we should be netting 40,000 exp per Kyurem defeated. I did see this in my earlier eggs popped, but the most recent one that I popped during Raid Hour showed 26,000 exp. Just wondering if anybody else has experienced this. I'm going to reach out to Niantic about it. I don't have proof because the screen that shows our raid rewards/exp moved too quickly. I played on an Android phone. [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 23 Dec 2020 07:12 AM PST I think it would be cool if the game featured a battle league without a daily limit of battles you can do. No need for rewards just pure battling fun (kinda what we can do with team leaders, but instead with random players out there). I know we can battle friends, but they aren't always online and you know (if you battle them) what mons they have and what their teams are. Instead, with all the players of the world in a free league you can experiment with new teams, perfect battle technics and just pass the time. It could be so fun. I'm addicted to battle league but always hit that limit of daily battles. I don't need an incentive of stardust+other rewards to keep going haha. Maybe just a global numbered ranking out of all players in the free league. What do y'all think? [link] [comments] |
